April 12, 2017Our new electronic fare (e-fare) system is coming soon! E-fare, which features smart cards and a mobile ticketing smartphone app, will make riding the bus faster, easier, and more convenient. As we prepare to transition, we are proposing a few changes to our current fare structure to fully utilize the new e-fare technology, expedite the boarding process, and better accommodate passengers. Most importantly, this proposal does not include a fare increase. If approved, changes to the fare structure will be in effect when the e-fare system launches in early 2018.

January 12, 2017Due to the closing of the Kmart store at 68th Street and Clyde Park, the Route 1 will be rerouted to improve efficiency. Beginning Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, Route 1 buses will no longer travel through the parking lot to the bus stop by the building at this store location. The Route 1 buses will travel west on 68th Street from Division to Clyde Park, and then right on Clyde Park to Meijer at 54th Street.Riders will still have access to this plaza via the current bus stop on 68th Street at the drive by Taco Bell, as well as a new bus stop at 68th Street and Clyde Park.
December 15, 2016CHRISTMAS EVE, SATURDAY, DECEMBER 24 Radial service from Central Station The 5:45 pm and 6:15 pm lineups will be the last to depart Central Station; The 5:45 pm lineup (Routes 5, 6, 9 and 16) will operate their entire trip, terminating service when they arrive at Central Station at 7:05 pm; The longer routes at the 6:15 pm lineup (Routes 1, 2, 4, 8, and 15) will deadhead back to the garage at the conclusion of their outbound trip; The shorter routes at the 6:15 pm lineup (Routes 3, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18) will operate their entire trip, terminating service when they arrive back at Central Station between 7:05 – 7:10 pm; The last trip on the Silver Line will depart Central Station at 6:30 pm. When it reaches the end of the line at 60thStreet, it will deadhead back to the garage. The Silver Line bus that departs Central Station at 6:00 pm will operate its entire trip, terminating at Central Station at 7:10 pm. University Service Route 50 (Campus Connector) will not be operating at all from December 23, 2016 through January 2, 2017; Route 60 (GRCC Sneden Shuttle) will not be in operation from December 16, 2016 through January 8, 2017; Route 100 (Ferris State) will not be in operation from December 17, 2016 through January 3, 2017; Crosstown Service Route 24 will operate eastbound trips until terminating at Woodland Mall at 6:42 pm.
