The Rapid Opened New Park-and-Ride Lot in Standale
The new Laker Line Park-and-Ride lot will serve as a commuter lot for customers using the Laker Line.
The new Laker Line Park-and-Ride lot in Standale opened this week to address commuter needs and business growth. The lot is conveniently located at 4211 Lake Michigan Drive next to the Laker Line Cummings Avenue Station.
The Rapid's customers can park for free and board the Laker Line, offering an affordable alternative to monthly paid parking. People can use the parking lot and then travel on the Laker Line to destinations in downtown Grand Rapids and Grand Valley State University's Allendale campus.
The Rapid celebrated the grand opening of the new lot with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 14, 2022. The transit agency was joined by Senator Mark Huizenga, Representative Carol Glanville, Rapid Board Members, Walker City Commissioners, and Walker's DDA Board.
