GRAND RAPIDS, MI (MICHIGAN RADIO) - Transit officials in Grand Rapids are in the final stages of developing a new 20-year master plan. And they're asking for more help to narrow down their priorities.

Last fall, the bus system in Grand Rapids, called The Rapid, held public meetings to get input on what should be included in the master plan. Officials also completed a report comparing the Grand Rapids bus system to systems in other similar cities. Now they're asking people in Grand Rapids to go online and fill out a survey to rank their priorities for transit in the next 20 years.

Some of the suggestions from last year's public meetings include more frequent service, extended service on evenings and weekends, faster buses and a streetcar system.

The deadline for completing a survey is April 16th. The master plan will be out later in the spring.
