Travel Training

The Rapid offers the following programs at no cost, designed to help those who may require further assistance before riding our buses.

One-On-One Travel Training

If you’re a senior or have a disability, The Rapid offers short-term, individualized instruction on how to travel safely and independently aboard fixed-route buses. A travel trainer will plan your route, ride with you during training, and stay in contact with you to monitor your progress.

Group Travel Training: Bus 101

At the location of your choice, learn the benefits and advantages of The Rapid services via a presentation tailored to your group’s needs including how to acquire and use a Wave card. Field trip requests are available through our Information Center.

Vehicle Familiarization

Designed for individuals who use a mobility device, this program will provide practical experience in boarding a fixed-route bus while not in service from the comfort and safety of Central Station; all of our fixed-route service buses are lift-equipped and handicap accessible.
