Traffic Impacts of the Westbound I-196 Construction

From April through August, westbound I-196 will be closed over the Grand River near US-131 for widening and deck replacement. During this time, westbound I-196 will not have access to US-131 and one lane will remain open with access to Fuller, College, and Ottawa avenues.

While this construction won’t detour any routes, it will likely impact traffic and travel times, particularly on Route 11, 13, 19, and the Silver Line. We appreciate your patience in spite of traffic delays and ask that you plan your travel accordingly and utilize the myStop, Transit app, Google Maps or our website to track your bus.
