Service Enhancements Coming Monday, January 9th

Beginning on Monday, January 9, 2012, certain routes in The Rapid's system will have improved frequency, later service hours, and extended connections.

Beginning on Monday, January 9, 2012, the first enhancements of Phase 1 of the Transit Master Plan will go into effect.

On weekday evenings, all routes will run until at least 11:15pm.

The seven busiest routes will run until 12:15am on weekdays:

  • Route 1 (Division)
  • Route 2 (Kalamazoo)
  • Route 4 (Eastern)
  • Route 6 (Eastown/Woodland)
  • Route 9 (Alpine)
  • Route 11 (Plainfield)
  • Route 28 (28th Street)

All routes will run every at least every 30 minutes on weekdays (except Routes 17-Airport and 44-44th Street), and will run until 10:00pm on Saturday (except Route 17-Airport).

Route 50, the GVSU Campus Connector will connect all the way to Rapid Central Station on weekdays from 6:45pm to 12:30am.

These service enhancements are possible because of the successful passage of the Public Transporation Millage in May 2011.
