On Oct. 23, 2019, The Rapid held two public meetings to share details about the plan to end the sale of paper tickets for regular fixed-route bus service.
The Rapid will end the sale of paper tickets for regular fixed-route bus service on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019.
- Paper bus tickets and passes will no longer be available for purchase online, at Rapid Central Station, and onboard the bus.
- Paper tickets will continue to be accepted as fare until summer 2020.
- Cash will continue to be accepted as bus fare indefinitely.
- Special ticket programs will transition from two-ride tickets to single-ride barcodes.
Wave cards are available for purchase with cash, credit, or debit at retail outlets, Rapid Central Station, or at wave.ridetherapid.org
