The Rapid is Recognized for Encouraging Women in Non-traditional Careers

At its luncheon on March 7th, the Women's Resource Center presented The Rapid with a 2007 Employer Recognition Award for its commitment to attract, hire, and retain minorities and women through outreach programs and support services. "Public transportation has been a male-dominated industry," commented Peter Varga, The Rapid's CEO. "We are proud that our efforts to help change that have been recognized in this way."

The Employer Recognition Award is West Michigan's only prestigious award publicly recognizing employers' contributions to the success of women in their workplaces.
