Any college student can use a 10-ride student farecard, which costs less than the adult 10-ride card. You must show a valid college ID. Purchase farecards here. (There is no student discount on a single cash fare.)
GVSU subsidizes several routes to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff. A valid GVSU ID gets you on any Rapid bus in the system for free.
There are park and ride lots along Lake Michigan Drive to give students access to Route 50. See a map (268 KB, JPG) of the locations.

Students, faculty, and staff pay just 40 cents per ride with a valid Aquinas ID card. Aquinas subsidizes the remainder of the fare.
Ferris State University
In partnership with Ferris, The Rapid operates a shuttle service between Rapid Central Station in Grand Rapids and the Big Rapids campus of FSU. This service is intended primarily for students, faculty, and staff, however, it will be open to the general public for a fare of $8/per one-way trip. FSU students can purchase a semester pass at Ferris that is good on this route only--not on other Rapid routes or services. The Rapid does not sell semester passes. Davenport University's MBA Downtown Center is located at 45 Ottawa NW in downtown Grand Rapids (49503). Route 6 (Eastown/Woodland) and Route 13 (Michigan/Fuller) both directly serve this campus. In addition, many other routes run within a 1/4 mile of the MBA Downtown Campus. Please refer to our Schedules and Maps page for details.
Several Routes also connect to Davenport's shuttle service between the two area campuses (Routes 2, 4, 5, 6, 24, 28). Please refer to the Davenport University website for more details.
Grand Rapids Community College
Grand Rapids Community College students can ride Route 60 (GRCC Sneden Shuttle) for free with a valid GRCC ID.
There is no service on Route 60 - GRCC through the summer. Service will resume when classes begin in the fall.
