College Information

Forget about paying sky-high gas prices. Say goodbye to hunting and paying for parking on campus. Ride The Rapid instead.

Grand Valley State University
GVSU subsidizes several routes to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff. A valid GVSU ID gets you on any Rapid bus in the system for free.

There are park and ride lots along Lake Michigan Drive to give students access to Route 50. See a map of the locations. (JPG, 102 KB)

GVSU is currently on a limited summer bus schedule. For details, click here (PDF, 560 KB) or see the route information.

Davenport University
Davenport contracts with The Rapid to provide open-door express service between Rapid Central Station, the downtown campus, and the Lettinga campus. Davenport students, faculty, and staff ride for free on the Davenport Express. Riding any other route requires a fare.
Route 49/Davenport

Calvin College
Students, faculty, and staff pay just 50 cents per ride with a Rapid Discount Card. Calvin subsidizes the remainder of the fare. Note: As of November 1, 2006, Calvin College identification cards will no longer be accepted for purposes of paying the reduced fare.

Aquinas College
Students, faculty, and staff pay just 40 cents per ride with a valid Aquinas ID card. Aquinas subsidizes the remainder of the fare.

Any college student can use a 10-ride student farecard, which costs less than the adult 10-ride card. You must show a valid college ID. Purchase farecards here. (There is no student discount on a single cash fare.)
