How does the new transit master plan serve you?

Faster service, longer hours, and a transit system that grows to meet your needs.

The 2030 Transit Master Plan (TMP) begins its journey towards implementation with a series of enhancements that improve service throughout the system.

Extended Service On All Routes

To address broader working hours, supporting growing entertainment, and addressing Sunday worship needs, the plan recommends extending service hours on all routes, adding holiday service and improving Sunday service.

• Weekdays: 5 a.m. to 12 a.m.
• Saturdays: 6 a.m. to 12 a.m.
• Sundays and Holidays: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Improved Service Frequency
clockIncreased frequency of stops to every 15 minutes on many weekday routes will allow travelers to get where they’re going more quickly throughout the service area.

• 15-minute weekday off-peak on Routes

2 - Kalamazoo
4 - Eastern
6 - Eastown
9 - Alpine
11 - Plainfield

• 30-minute nights and weekends on most routes

• Bus Rapid Transit frequencies on Division Avenue and Lake Michigan Drive (10-minute peak/15-minute off-peak anticipated)

Two New Crosstown Routes

The task force recommended the development of two new routes to significantly reduce the time to transfer from North/South routes to East/West destinations and avoid routing through Rapid Central Station.

• Leonard Street
• Three Mile Road

Four New Local Routes

To meet the needs of population growth in an expanding metro market, four additional local routes were recommended to support areas currently underserved by public transportation.New Local Routes

• Georgetown Township/Hudsonville
• Walker Ave/Three Mile Rd
• Rockford/Knapp’s Corner
• Comstock Park/Belmont

Express Bus To Locales Outside 6 Core Cities

Six new Express Bus service routes would service riders from the following areas:

• Gerald R. Ford International Airport
• Cedar Springs/Rockford
• Walker (Fruit Ridge Ave)
• Georgetown Township/Hudsonville
• Byron/Gaines Townships (U.S. 131 @ 76th St)
• Cascade/Caledonia Townships
• Ada Village
